Swiss centre-back Cédric Zesiger, 28, wants to leave FC Augsburg for private reasons and is close to a return to Switzerland with Young Boys.
Negotiations between the two clubs are already underway, with a transfer fee of around five million euros being discussed. It is understood that Augsburg is willing to facilitate the move, despite having signed Zesiger permanently from VfL Wolfsburg for approximately four million euros last summer and giving him a contract that runs until 2029. He has been capped six times by the Swiss national team.
