Caoimhin Kelleher Transfer from Liverpool to Brentford
Team Talk reports on Caoimhin Kelleher's impending transfer to Brentford from Liverpool for a surprisingly low fee. Caoimhin Kelleher is set to join Brentford from Liverpool for a surprisingly low fee as part of Liverpool's summer sales strategy.
Brentford are continuing to push to sign Caoimhín Kelleher. Talks with the player and Liverpool are ongoing. Kelleher is expected to replace Mark Flekken. Initial reports including from The Athletic claimed Liverpool were setting their stall out at £30m for a player who has reputedly proven he’s more than good enough to be a top flight starter. However, Sky Sports claimed Liverpool’s valuation has dropped to in excess of £20m. The drop is likely due to Kelleher entering the final year of his contract and his public desire to leave.
Brentford have made an approach to Liverpool with the intention of signing goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher. The club has maintained a long-standing interest in Kelleher, and Liverpool is reportedly willing to consider a sale following their acquisition of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia last summer. It is understood that Kelleher is eager to compete for a starting position, and Brentford is thought to be leading the race due to their strong relationship with Liverpool. This interest from Brentford coincides with their ongoing discussions to sell their current first-choice goalkeeper, Mark Flekken, to Bayer Leverkusen, who have recently appointed Erik ten Hag as manager. While other clubs have also shown interest in Kelleher, Brentford's previous successful transactions with Liverpool, such as the signing of Sepp van den Berg last summer, may provide them with an edge in securing the transfer.
