According to Voetbal International, 24-year-old Dutch goalkeeper Calvin Raatsie is expected to depart from Excelsior this summer, and the club is willing to facilitate a transfer. NAC Breda was a concrete possibility because they were seeking a goalkeeper with a Dutch profile to compete with Daniel Bielica, who is reportedly not entirely undisputed within the club. A swap deal was discussed which would have involved Roy Kortsmit moving to Excelsior, but this plan was not successful. VI also reports that Excelsior might still approach Kortsmit after Raatsie is placed at another club. While the transfer to NAC Breda is off for now, Raatsie has attracted interest from VVV-Venlo and multiple other clubs in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. Raatsie joined Excelsior in July 2024, and his contract is valid until June 2027. The goalkeeper has been capped 7 times for the Netherlands U21s and has a current market value of €300k, according to Transfermarkt.
