FC Barcelona has halted the transfer of 20-year-old Spanish central midfielder Brian Fariñas to Girona. A report from Mundo Deportivo on July 1 stated that the young Barça player was heading to Montilivi and that the transfer seemed inevitable in recent days. However, the Catalan club has now decided to withdraw from the deal, at least for the time being. Fariñas joined FC Barcelona Atlètic in July 2025, has a contract that runs until June 2028, and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €2.50m.
