According to a source familiar with the situation, the transfer of Monaco's 28-year-old Swiss forward Breel Embolo to CSKA Moscow has collapsed. Although CSKA had been in contact with Embolo and the player had expressed his readiness to join the Moscow club, the deal fell through on the last day of the European transfer window when Rennes made a €15 million offer that Monaco accepted. The forward, whose market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €12.00m, had also been linked with several Serie A clubs, including Milan and Roma.
