Branimir Hrgota, a 33-year-old Swedish-Croatian left-footed attacker, has signed with Bundesliga-relegated FC St. Pauli. The signing occurred a few days after his contract expired at league competitor Greuther Fürth, where he played for seven years. Andreas Bornemann, FC St. Pauli's sporting director, stated that the club was very happy to have convinced the three-time Swedish international (0 goals) to join. Bornemann added that Hrgota's flexibility significantly enhances their attacking options, and he brings a great deal of experience, having repeatedly demonstrated his ability to take responsibility and be a difference-maker in important matches. Hrgota explained that having played at the Millerntor often, he knows St. Pauli is a special club. He also stated the decision to move to Hamburg was made easy because the sporting outlook and the plan presented by the management were right for him. The attacker had also been linked with Hertha BSC and has a market value of €500k, according to Transfermarkt.
