Borna Barišić is poised to make a return to his boyhood club Osijek as a free agent, following the conclusion of his contract with Trabzonspor on September 1st. The 32-year-old is available after a prolonged recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury, which he sustained in his first game during a loan spell at Leganes. A full agreement for his return has been reached, according to Germanijak. The one-time Osijek captain has been taking part in first-team training for a period, yet he is not considered match-fit after an eight to nine-month layoff and will be gradually reintroduced to the squad. The club's sporting director, Alen Petrović, is acknowledged for convincing the Croatian international left-back to make the switch. Per Transfermarkt, his market value currently stands at €800k, a significant fall that occurred after his injury.
