Hein Vanhaezebrouck, former coach of Belgian centre-forward Benito Raman, has stated to Sporza that it is widely known that the 31-year-old and Gent are linked. The analyst suggested the possibility that an agreement might already exist for the player to return, though he added that he does not suspect this is the case. Raman, who is set to enter the final year of his contract at KV Mechelen next summer, commented in the HLN Voetbalpodcast that he is not in a hurry to leave the club. He indicated that if they qualify for European football, his choice would be made quickly, and he allowed for the possibility of extending his current deal, while also acknowledging that the future is uncertain. The Belgian international has one cap for his country and has recorded two goals and three assists in 18 Jupiler Pro League appearances this season. His current market value is €1.50m.
