Falkirk manager John McGlynn said that they have had fair offers from two or three clubs for Barney. McGlynn stated that it is very early so they are not in a rush because other offers might arrive. He said that if a certain amount of money were to be received for the player, it would be used for a grass park and needed training facilities. McGlynn added that he would still expect more offers but is not sure whether they would be sufficient for the board to accept.

Jamie Swinney stated that Falkirk do not need to sell Barney Stewart or any of their top players this summer. Swinney acknowledged that there will be growing interest in a number of John McGlynn's players, including Barney Stewart. He said that if a player gets a significant opportunity for their career and the terms are right for Falkirk, they will consider it, adding that at this moment in time, Falkirk are not looking to sell anyone and hope not to receive any offers in the summer.

John McGlynn said it would not be a surprise to him if interest in Barney Stewart emerges this summer. McGlynn also said the club is in no rush to sell him, claiming Stewart's value will be significantly higher with a full top-flight season as a Bairn. McGlynn added that they do not need to sell anyone.

Coll Donaldson laughed off a claim that a transfer for Barney Stewart to Hibs is a done deal, insisting Stewart has ambitions for something more significant. Ewen Cameron adamantly claimed a move to Hibs is imminent. Donaldson responded by asking if the deal was completed and finalized. Donaldson also stated that if Stewart joins Hibs, he would be absolutely devastated, adding that he thinks and hopes Stewart has ambitions for something bigger than Hibs.
