In the winter, Bakery Jatta turned down a move to VfL Bochum.

VfL Bochum, managed by Dieter Hecking, showed interest in signing Bakery Jatta on loan for the second half of the season. The player was reportedly open to the move, but was convinced to stay at Hamburger SV by coach Merlin Polzin. Jatta, aged 26, has struggled to find his form this season at Hamburger SV, partly due to an injury, having only made eight appearances with one assist to his name.
