According to Digi Sport, CFR Cluj have announced the signing of Arpad Tordai as their new goalkeeper. Tordai, 29, grew up at Viitorul Constanța, winning the championship title in 2017. He has also played for Mezokovesd Zsory in Hungary and Zalgiris Vilnius in Lithuania. He recently played for UTA Arad, including during this season. CFR Cluj welcomed the player and wished him success.

Marius Șumudică confirmed that CFR Cluj will sign goalkeeper Arpad Tordai, who will arrive as a free agent from UTA Arad. Arpad Tordai reached an agreement with UTA Arad regarding the termination of his contract and will sign with CFR Cluj soon. The signing will only be possible after FIFA lifts CFR Cluj's transfer ban. Marius Șumudică stated that they are signing goalkeeper Tordai to provide cover for the position because they only had a young player.

Arpad Tordai has reached an agreement with UTA Arad to terminate his contract. He is expected to join CFR Cluj as soon as the FIFA transfer ban is lifted. According to sportarad.ro, the club paid him up to date and an advance salary. Tordai accepted to leave the club even though his contract was valid until next summer. Marius Șumudică targeted Tordai as a replacement for Octavian Vâlceanu, and Tordai is likely to become the first-choice goalkeeper for CFR Cluj.

GSP reports that Romanian and Hungarian goalkeeper Árpád Tordai, aged 29, has left UTA and is expected to sign with CFR Cluj as a free agent. The goalkeeper was no longer part of the plans of coach Adrian Mihalcea at UTA, becoming the third-choice option after the transfer of Marcio Rosa. This resulted in the two parties mutually agreeing to terminate his contract. CFR Cluj was in urgent need of a goalkeeper, as they had been left with only Octavian Vâlceanu and Rareș Gal as senior options. Tordai is set to be the first transfer of the Marius Șumudică era. The move comes at a time when the club has recently entered insolvency. Tordai has one cap for the Romania U21 team and had joined UTA in January 2026. His current market value is €150k, according to Transfermarkt.
