FC Twente has sold midfielder Arno Verschueren to SK Beveren. The player signed a three-year contract with his new club on Tuesday, and the transfer was completed on Deadline Day. Verschueren was not in the plans of FC Twente coach John van den Brom and had played only a few minutes in the Eredivisie this season. FC Twente director Erik ten Hag commented on the sale and wished Verschueren success at Beveren.

Arno Verschueren is expected to return to Belgium, as SK Beveren is reportedly close to presenting the 29-year-old midfielder. At FC Twente, Verschueren had not played this season and was permitted to leave by coach John van den Brom. The Belgian is expected to sign a contract with Beveren until mid-2029. FC Twente had purchased Verschueren from Sparta Rotterdam in early 2025 for a few hundred thousand euros, and he scored one goal in 52 appearances for the club. Verschueren has been capped 9 times for the Belgium U19 team, and his current market value is €700k, according to Transfermarkt. ADO Den Haag had also reportedly been interested in the player.
