A full agreement has been reached between Újpest FC and FC Augsburg for the transfer of Arne Maier, a 27-year-old German central midfielder. Újpest's sporting director, Pál Dárdai, who previously coached the player at Hertha, actively pursued the acquisition. Maier could undergo his medical examination and subsequently sign for the club during the weekend. The German U21 international, with 18 caps and one goal for the side, joined Augsburg in July 2022 and has a contract until June 2026. He has made one appearance in the Bundesliga this season. His current Transfermarkt market value is €2.00m.
