According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are interested in a deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur central midfielder Archie Gray before the end of the summer transfer window. The report claims that the Magpies have renewed their previous interest in the England U21 international and are now considering a move to sign him before the deadline. It adds that they are looking at several options to strengthen their midfield, including Gonzalez, and reveals that Spurs want a fee of at least £60m to sell the midfielder.

According to sources, Newcastle has an interest in Archie Gray, raised his name during discussions over Sandro Tonali, and enquired about the possibility of including the England Under-21 international in negotiations. Sources have also confirmed that Spurs stated Gray is not for sale and does not form part of any discussions involving Tonali or any other player. Newcastle has now formally enquired about Gray. Gray is not pushing to leave Tottenham, remains committed to establishing himself under De Zerbi, and is encouraged by conversations over his role in the squad.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Newcastle submitted an offer to Tottenham for Archie Gray, which was rejected. Following the approach, Spurs made their position clear and no agreement has been reached between the clubs. It is understood that Newcastle's interest in Gray continues, while Tottenham's stance has not changed for now.
