Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing Zimbabwean international midfielder Andy Rinomhota, should he not agree to a new contract with Reading and become a free agent. The club was also interested in the 29-year-old last season when they were under a transfer embargo. Wednesday's interest has returned as the club starts a new period with different ownership. Rinomhota's contract with Reading is due to expire at the end of June. While Reading has offered him a new contract, he has been required to make a decision by mid-June. The potential departure of his teammate Charlie Savage could also affect the player's decision, as a sale might result in more first-team opportunities for Rinomhota at Reading. Rinomhota, who has 13 caps for his country, joined Reading in November 2025. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €450k.
