Andreas Christensen Transfer from FC Barcelona to Al Nassr
Christensen is not included in FC Barcelona's plans for the next season. The club has communicated to him that they will not extend his contract, which is set to expire on June 30, 2026, and are open to his departure this summer. Although recovering from a previous injury, Christensen is willing to leave should an attractive offer come his way. Mundo Deportivo has reported that FC Barcelona has attracted interest from a Saudi Arabian club, likely Al Nassr, which might propose a lucrative financial package. Christensen, who transferred to Barcelona in 2022 from Chelsea, has faced injury issues, affecting his contribution to the team. The club, which has an excess of central defenders and is under financial fair play regulations, aims to offload him to reduce his relatively high salary of 9 million euros gross annually. Despite internal discussions about his future, with some advocating for his retention, the decision has been made to focus on other players like Ronald Araújo. A possible transfer to Al Nassr would not only provide Christensen with a financial uplift but also enable Barcelona to gain financially from a player they acquired on a free transfer, making the deal financially attractive.
