FC Copenhagen showed interest in acquiring Andi Zeqiri, but ultimately failed to persuade the player to sign. While there were negotiations and contacts, the transfer did not come to fruition. Zeqiri was also in discussions with other clubs, including those competing in the Champions League and Paphos. Nonetheless, it was Widzew Łódź that intervened and successfully completed the player's transfer. They settled on a transfer fee exceeding two million euros with KRC Genk, setting a new record as the most expensive signing in the club's history. Robert Dobrzycki, the owner of Widzew Łódź, arranged for a special plane to transport Zeqiri to Poland for medical examinations, which, if successful, will enable him to join the Ekstraklasa.
