Manchester United have renewed their interest in Aston Villa's Amadou Onana and are again considering a move. According to transfer reporter Pete O’Rourke, Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, and Adam Wharton are all ranked higher than Onana in United's considerations.

Manchester United could reportedly be set to make another attempt to sign Amadou Onana. On Football Insider’s podcast, Pete O’Rourke reported that United made a late attempt to sign Onana from Everton before his £50m move to Aston Villa. O’Rourke added that he is sure United have continued to monitor Onana. Onana has become an important player for Unai Emery’s side. O’Rourke further said that Onana is a player they have had previous interest in, and he thinks the player probably still remains on their list but is not a top priority.

Amadou Onana has been linked with moves to Manchester United in recent transfer windows, and speculation over his future has increased once again. This follows Onana joking about joining a world-class club in the future. Mick Brown of Football Insider said that it would not be a surprise to see Onana leave Villa.

Manchester United may target Amadou Onana as a replacement for Casemiro. Aston Villa would likely demand a fee similar to the €51.5m they received for Douglas Luiz in 2024. Onana joined Aston Villa from Everton in July 2024 for a reported fee of €59.4M and his contract runs until June 2029.
