Odriozola leaving Real Sociedad?
Mundo Deportivo has reported on the ongoing transfer situation involving Álvaro Odriozola. His representatives had been trying to secure a move for him to Italy, where he has previously played with Fiorentina, possibly on a loan deal. However, the transfer did not come to fruition, potentially because of his high salary demands or concerns regarding his physical condition over recent years. The Italian transfer window closed without any successful agreement, and no opportunities arose in other countries before the Spanish market also closed. Despite Real Sociedad's clear intention to offload him, Odriozola will stay with the club due to a lack of alternatives, with four years remaining on his contract. There are still possibilities to find a new club in markets that remain open, such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, or Russia, or to negotiate a contract termination, although this is complicated by the club's financial obligations.
Marca has reported that the departure of the 29-year-old Spanish full-back Álvaro Odriozola from Real Sociedad is accelerating. It was noted that Álvaro Odriozola did not take part in the Friday training session at Zubieta, which was led by Sergio Francisco, suggesting his impending exit from the club. His contract with Real Sociedad is valid until June 2029, and according to Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at €1.00 million. This marks a substantial decline from his peak valuation of €30 million in 2018, the year he was transferred from Real Sociedad to Real Madrid for a reported sum of €32 million, before making a return in 2023 for €1.5 million.
