Aliou Dieng Transfer from Al Ahly to Pyramids FC
Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng, 28, is refusing to continue his career in Egypt and has rejected financially attractive offers from Pyramids FC and clubs in the Gulf. The player's position on not joining Pyramids FC has not changed. Spanish club Girona FC has made a formal offer. A source within Al Ahly reports this offer is for €700,000 to buy out the remaining months of Dieng's contract, which is set to expire at the end of June. The proposal from the Catalan club is financially lower than the offers from Pyramids FC and Qatari teams. Dieng is prioritizing a move to La Liga for sporting reasons. Al Ahly is considering the situation; the club is aware that the player refuses to extend his contract and could leave for free in a few months. Dieng has 46 caps and two goals for Mali. In the current Egyptian Premier League season, he has made 11 appearances and has no goals or assists. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €3.00m. In November 2025, it was reported that Al Ahly was considering a counter-demand of around €1.5 million for the player.
