Romanian attacking midfielder Alexandru Mățan, 26, is unlikely to remain at Panetolikos, where his one-year contract is set to expire on June 30th, and he is reportedly close to leaving. There are several offers from Greece for the attacking midfielder, including from Atromitos. A Polish team, identified as Widzew Łódź, has also shown interest, partly because the player can be acquired on a free transfer. However, the matter is not concluded for Panetolikos, as the club is still trying to keep him and has not yet received a response. In the 2025/2026 season, Mățan made a combined 34 appearances in the Super League 1 and the play-outs, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists. The former Romania U23 international has a current market value of €1.80m, according to Transfermarkt.
