Despite being viewed as an ideal replacement for Dennis Politic, Mățan's financial requirements rendered the transfer unfeasible. Previously, Mățan was transferred to Dibba Al-Hisn in Dubai, where he participated in only three matches over three months without scoring, yet his market value remains at 2.8 million euros according to Transfermarkt.
