Śląsk Wrocław has identified Alexander Almqvist as a backup transfer option and will consider discussions for his transfer from Oddevold if their main plan to sign Lukas Klemenz fails. Almqvist is a 25-year-old Swedish centre-back who plays for the Swedish second-tier club. The alternative plan for Almqvist exists because of uncertainty around the Klemenz deal. While a contract agreement with Klemenz has reportedly been reached, his current deal requires a transfer fee for a winter move, and it is not certain that Śląsk can provide the necessary funds. Almqvist joined IK Oddevold in March 2023, and according to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €400k.
