Aleksandar Mitrović leaving Al Hilal?

Kicker reports on the transfer of Aleksandar Mitrovic to Al-Rayyan. The Serbian international striker Aleksandar Mitrovic (30) moves from Al Hilal to the Qatari top club Al-Rayyan and signs a three-year contract until June 2028. The transfer has been officially announced.

The Serbian striker Mitrovic, who scored 69 goals and provided 14 assists in 79 games for Al-Hilal in the last two seasons, is leaving for Al-Rayyan, Qatar, coached by Artur Jorge, former Botafogo coach. According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the transfer was agreed on Thursday. Mitrovic, who was under contract until June 2026 with Al-Hilal, reached an agreement with the Saudi club for termination. As per Saudi TV Al Kass, he will receive 25 million euros as compensation.

Transfer experts Santi Aouna and Nicola Schira report that Mitrovic will mutually terminate his contract with Al-Hilal, allowing him to move as a free agent. Although a return to European top leagues is not considered, he is expected to stay in the Middle East, specifically moving to Al-Rayyan in Qatar, where a yearly salary of around 10 million euros awaits him.

Aleksandar Mitrović is leaving Al Hilal due to the arrival of Darwin Nunez and coach Simone Inzaghi's decision not to count on him. Al Hilal is willing to pay Mitrović 25 million euros to leave the club this summer.

Zenit St. Petersburg is interested in acquiring Aleksandar Mitrovic from Al-Hilal. Mitrovic is reportedly not in the plans of Al-Hilal's new coach, Simone Inzaghi, as the club is seeking a new renowned forward. Zenit has already approached Mitrovic, expressing their interest. A potential issue in the transfer could be Mitrovic's high salary demands. Al-Hilal has expressed willingness to cover the difference in Mitrovic's salary, which, along with bonuses, exceeds €20 million.

The coach Simone Inzaghi has requested the termination of contracts for four players, including Mitrovic. This decision is part of a reformulation plan following Al Hilal's elimination from the Club World Cup by Fluminense. Mitrovic's contract with Al Hilal is until the middle of 2026.

Mitrović's future at Al Hilal seems uncertain as the new coach Simone Inzaghi does not plan to include him in the next season's lineup. Although he hasn't played in the Club World Cup, this situation could work out well for him. Al Hilal might release him soon, making him a free agent, especially since his contract has only one year left. He would receive a severance package of 25 million euros. There's interest from multiple clubs, but no specific club besides Manchester United is mentioned. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market worth at 18.00 million euros.
