Club Brugge and Strasbourg are making a late attempt to sign 19-year-old Gambian centre-back Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh, who is in advanced negotiations with Al Ahli. Kinteh's club, Tromsø, reportedly favors the Saudi offer. The Belgian and French clubs have been given 48 hours to try to change the outcome of the transfer. Kinteh joined Tromsø in March 2025 and has a contract until the end of 2029. He has made 9 appearances in the Eliteserien this season and has one cap for The Gambia. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €7.00m. In June 2026, reports claimed that FC Köln reached an agreement to sign the player for €6 million. An offer from Al-Ahli was reported in February 2026 at €6 million, potentially rising to €8 million.
