Lille is one of several French clubs monitoring Genk striker Aaron Bibout. Interest from Stade Rennes, Strasbourg, and Saint-Etienne has also been reported. The 21-year-old Cameroonian joined Genk last summer from the Swedish second-division team Västerås for a €2.2 million fee. After initially playing for Jong Genk, where he scored ten goals in sixteen matches, Bibout has had more limited opportunities with the first team, scoring three goals in eighteen games and subsequently losing his starting place. His contract with the Belgian club runs until June 2029. His current market value is €2.00m, according to Transfermarkt. During the negotiations for his move to Genk, it was reported that Västerås SK's asking price was around €2.7 million, and it was said that an initial bid from the Belgian club of just under €2 million had been rejected.
