There is speculation about a potential loan return to Udinese for 26-year-old Italian centre-forward Lorenzo Lucca during the January transfer window, seen as a move to relaunch his career after he was sold to Napoli last summer. However, Udinese's transfer director, Gian Luca Nani, has addressed these rumors. Speaking to the club's official television channel, Nani stated he found the rumor to be strange.

He explained that Napoli paid a good price for the player, who now earns a salary that is unthinkable for Udinese, making it odd for him to return on loan with his wages paid. While acknowledging that anything can happen in football, Nani said he is inclined to rule out the possibility, adding that the club does not think it is right to begin negotiations for such a transfer. Lucca has five caps for Italy and is under contract with Napoli until June 2030. His current market value is €20.00m, according to Transfermarkt. Lazio has also been linked with the player.
