Sevilla intends to sell 27-year-old Swiss international Ruben Vargas if suitable offers are made as the player returns for preseason. The club's sporting management, led by José Ignacio Navarro, is not willing to approve a transfer for less than 20 million euros. Vargas's value has increased following his World Cup performance, where he scored two goals and provided an assist. The website Transfermarkt now lists his valuation at 15 million euros.
Several clubs have shown interest in the winger, including Newcastle, Brighton, and Aston Villa in England, along with Trabzonspor in Turkey. He has 67 caps and 13 goals for Switzerland and his contract with Sevilla, which he joined in January 2025, is valid until June 30, 2029.
