Peter Ambrose set for Diósgyőr loan move

The Aberdeen striker is set for a loan transfer back to Hungarian football, though the deal is delayed.

Peter Ambrose, Aberdeen's 23-year-old Nigerian striker, is set to return to Hungarian football by joining Diósgyőr on loan, where he could get regular playing time in the spring season. The forward has previous experience in the Hungarian top flight with Újpest. The Daily Record reports that the transfer is currently delayed because Ambrose is waiting for his visa. A previous report by csakfoci.hu had indicated he would join Diósgyőr.

The Press and Journal (P&J) also confirmed that the striker, who was signed by Aberdeen in the summer of 2024 and is not in their current plans, is going to Diósgyőr. The P&J added that the loan is only delayed due to visa processing and the deal could be completed this week. His contract with the Scottish club runs until May 2027, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €400k.
