Nottingham Forest of England is preparing a €13 million offer for Otávio, a 20-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper from Cruzeiro. The English club has been monitoring the player, whose contract is valid until 2029. He recently became the starter for the Brazilian side following an injury to Cássio, making 5 league appearances this season. Before he became the first-choice keeper, Botafogo had also attempted to sign him, but those talks did not progress.

If the deal with Forest is completed, it would be the highest transfer fee a European club has paid for a Brazilian goalkeeper. Cruzeiro did not confirm any ongoing negotiations when contacted. Otávio, who joined Cruzeiro in January 2025, has been capped 3 times for the Brazil U20 national team and has a current market value of €500k, according to Transfermarkt.
