Deportivo Cali has transferred 18-year-old Colombian midfielder Matías Orozco to Brighton of the English Premier League in a deal valued at approximately 5 million euros. This sale is one of the most significant overseas sales for the Colombian club. Orozco traveled to Barcelona with his representative, Leonardo Daza, to finalize the transfer and process the English visa required to live and work in the United Kingdom. Once his documentation is complete, he will be available for official incorporation by Brighton.
The agreement stipulated that the English club acquired 85% of the player's rights, while Deportivo Cali holds the remaining 15% and also secured a 15% clause on any future transfer. In the 2025/2026 domestic league season, Orozco made 14 appearances for Deportivo Cali and scored one goal. He has been capped three times for the Colombia U21 national team. Several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, had also been linked with the player. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €1.40m.
