FC Augsburg is close to loaning 20-year-old defender Juma Bah from Manchester City before the German transfer deadline on 1 September. The Sierra Leone international has reportedly reached an agreement with the Bundesliga club. Negotiations with Manchester City are advanced but not yet finalized, with details such as the final loan fee still being clarified. According to Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who first reported on Augsburg's interest, the loan is expected to include a purchase option valued at around €20 million.

The club's management had been searching for a defensive reinforcement who could immediately help the team, a process that was underway even before Keven Schlotterbeck's departure to FC Southampton. Bah spent the previous season on loan at French top-flight club OGC Nizza, where he gained significant playing experience. Bah, who joined Manchester City in January 2025, has a contract with the club until 2031 and has earned 7 caps for Sierra Leone, scoring one goal. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €10.00m.
