Incoming Rangers manager Derek McInnes, who is set to join from Hearts, is keen to bring 26-year-old Portuguese centre-forward Cláudio Braga with him to Ibrox. McInnes wants to sign the attacker, which would involve competing with rival interest from Celtic. Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace have also been linked with Braga. Celtic have been linked with Braga for several months.

It is reported that the incoming manager hopes to secure the player and, in doing so, negatively impact Rangers' title rivals. Hearts rejected offers of around £5m for Braga in January, and it is felt that the club would now demand a fee of approximately £8-10m to allow him to leave this summer. Braga scored 14 goals and provided 5 assists in 33 Scottish Premiership appearances during the 2025/2026 season. He joined Hearts in July 2025 from Aalesund for €520,000. His contract is valid until May 2028, and his current market value is €7.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
