Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are at the bottom of the Premier League, made a multi-million offer for FC Twente's 24-year-old Dutch right-back Bart van Rooij on Monday, the final day of the English transfer window. FC Twente rejected the bid. The club's technical director, Jan Streuer, explained that they did not want to lose a key player at that time and could not permit it. Streuer described the offer as a very good amount but would not disclose the exact figure.
It is not known if van Rooij, whose contract runs until mid-2028, was interested in the move. For the 2025/2026 season in the Eredivisie, he has made 20 appearances, scored 2 goals, and provided 3 assists. The player has 5 caps for Netherlands U19, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €7.00m. Feyenoord has also been recently linked with him.
