Arthur Avom, a 21-year-old Cameroonian international, will not be extending his contract with FC Lorient this summer and is in his final weeks with the club. The midfielder has interest from clubs in England and France. According to ex-international Cameroonian player Salomon Mbete Mezang, clubs such as Chelsea and Crystal Palace are interested and are offering improved salary conditions.
Mezang also suggested that a move to a club such as Strasbourg or Rennes would be beneficial for Avom, as he could receive more playing time in a league he is familiar with. Avom joined Lorient in July 2024 and has made 20 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, with one assist. He has 12 caps and one goal for Cameroon, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €9.00m.
