Sam Johnstone, a 33-year-old England international, has moved from Wolves to Celtic on a season-long loan, which is subject to international clearance. Johnstone revealed that Joe Hart called him before the switch to emphasize the scale of Celtic, the quality of the squad, and the support of the fans. He joins Viljami Sinisalo and Ross Doohan in Martin O’Neill’s goalkeeping group after making 17 appearances for Wolves last season. Manager Martin O’Neill said that they were really happy to welcome Sam to Celtic, adding that he is a quality goalkeeper with excellent experience at the highest level and that he thinks Johnstone will be a very good addition to their goalkeeping team.

Celtic have signed experienced Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

Celtic and Wolves have reached a season-long loan agreement for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, and the player is travelling to Glasgow on Tuesday to complete a medical and finalise paperwork. The Scottish champions will cover a substantial portion of Johnstone’s wages. It is understood that the deal contains no obligation to buy. The deal is expected to be completed within 24 hours, potentially in time for the Premiership fixture against Aberdeen on Wednesday and ahead of the Europa League squad deadline. Head coach César Peixoto confirmed that although Johnstone continues to train with the first-team group, he will not be part of the team for the future. It is understood that both clubs are happy with the deal. Sources understand that if the loan is successful, he could become a low-cost option for Celtic next summer, and that Wolves would be willing to agree to a permanent transfer for the right price. Johnstone’s contract at Molineux is due to expire in June 2028, and with one year left on his contract next summer, it is likely a nominal fee will be sufficient.

According to Sky Sports News, Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Sam Johnstone from Wolves on a season-long loan. Sky Sports News reporter Anthony Joseph revealed that the Bhoys would pay a large portion of the England international’s wages. The goalkeeper is travelling to Glasgow on transfer deadline day to undergo a medical ahead of completing a loan deal with Martin O'Neill's side.

The Daily Record reports that Sam Johnstone is expected in Glasgow today to finalize a loan move to Celtic, as the Scottish champions have agreed to the outline of a deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers. The former England keeper has received permission to travel to complete the move. The deal is conditional on a medical, and sources close to the deal believe it should be finalized within the next 24 hours. His representatives proposed him to Celtic, and the club has proceeded with the move. Celtic will pay a portion of his wages, and if there are no late complications, he will compete with Viljami Sinisalo. The deal is expected to be completed in time for tomorrow’s game against Aberdeen and before the signing deadline for the Europa League group stages.

Celtic are in talks with Wolves over a loan for Sam Johnstone. The 33-year-old was offered to Celtic earlier this month. The champions have since strengthened their interest and want an initial loan from the Championship side. They are trying to complete a deal before the deadline.

Sam Johnstone is reportedly a target for the Parkhead club, as they look to bring in a rival for Viljami Sinisalo. Wolves manager Cesar Peixoto has told Sam Johnstone that he does not feature in his plans. While Johnstone is being allowed to continue training with the rest of the Wolves squad, he is not in the plans for the future.

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are interested in bringing goalkeeper Sam Johnstone to the club. Johnstone's future at Wolverhampton Wanderers is increasingly uncertain following the club’s relegation to the English Championship. Wolves have agreed a deal for Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Joao Virginia, and John Ruddy is reportedly in talks for a return to Wolves. There has been no official bid at this stage for Johnstone, who underwent shoulder surgery towards the end of last season. He has since returned to training and is almost fully fit. Wolves are not likely to prevent his departure.

It is reported that Celtic are considering a move for Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, as the club is assessing the 33-year-old's situation. The four-cap England international might be allowed to leave Molineux, conditional on Wolves signing Joao Virginia and John Ruddy. Johnstone has two years remaining on his contract and his prospects for regular football have diminished since returning from a shoulder injury.
