Celtic are interested in Motherwell's 25-year-old winger Elijah Just as the Parkhead club prepares for changes to the first-team squad. Although the identity of the next manager is not yet established, Shaun Maloney has begun working with recruitment staff to identify potential targets. Scouts have been observing the left-footed right winger from New Zealand following his six goals and six assists during Motherwell's late title challenge. Just is under contract at Fir Park until May 2027, and the club holds an option to extend it for another year.
Speaking in a March update to fans, chairman Kyrk McMillan warned that Motherwell will only permit players to leave if the price is acceptable. He explained that while the club aims to be a platform for players and doesn't want to prevent them from leaving, it is also important to receive the correct value for them to ensure the club itself can grow and develop. Just, who joined Motherwell in July 2025, has 40 caps and 8 goals for New Zealand and a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.50m.
