Bristol City has reached a verbal agreement with FC Volendam for the transfer of Gibson Yah, a 22-year-old Dutch-Nigerian defensive midfielder who joined the Dutch club last summer from FC Utrecht's youth team. The former Ajax youth player is also nearly in agreement with the Championship club, which finished twelfth last season. The final details of the deal are yet to be settled.
Earlier in the month, Yah was also linked with Portsmouth. The transfer will not be free, and FC Volendam could receive a significant fee. Yah has a contract with Volendam until mid-2027, which includes an option for an additional year. In the 2025/2026 Eredivisie season, Yah made 24 appearances and provided 3 assists. The former Netherlands U15 international has a current market value of €1.30m, according to Transfermarkt.
