Borussia Dortmund sent scouts to watch Leicester City's 18-year-old English central midfielder, Louis Page, play in a weekend match against Stockport County. Manchester United also had representatives at the match, and the club is confident it is in a leading position to sign the player after nearly reaching a deal during the summer. The interest from the German club is considered evidence of Page's reputation growing beyond England. Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle United, and Sunderland also had scouts at the same game. This is in addition to previous interest from clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham.
It is expected that Dortmund will continue to monitor Page's progress, adding another major club to the competition for the teenager. Page has been capped three times for England U19, is under contract at Leicester City until June 2029, and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €4.00m. It was reported that in August 2026, Manchester United had a bid of approximately €12 million rejected. Leicester City's asking price was said to be a total package of up to €18 million.
