Liverpool was prepared to offer approximately 40 million euros for Konrad Laimer, but Bayern Munich reportedly refused to enter into talks. The German club would only be willing to negotiate if the 28-year-old midfielder expressed a desire to leave, which has so far not occurred. While Atlético and Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the Austrian international, their interest appears less definite. The situation is influenced by contract negotiations between Laimer and Bayern that have not progressed, with his current deal running until 2027. The main issue is reportedly salary, as Laimer is said to want between twelve and fifteen million euros per year, whereas the club has offered eight to nine million.
Laimer told Sport Bild in mid-February that not many talks were taking place at that moment and that he was not worried about his future. Laimer, who joined Bayern in July 2023, has a current market value of €32.00m according to Transfermarkt. For Austria, he has earned 55 caps and scored 7 goals. In the current Bundesliga season, he has made 19 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 4 assists.
