Hamburger SV and FC Arsenal are in negotiations for the permanent transfer of Fábio Vieira. As an agreement has not yet been reached, the 25-year-old Portuguese attacking midfielder's side is looking at alternatives. HSV considers the €20 million purchase option to be too high and cannot pay more than €11 million.
According to a sports magazine, Vieira has been offered to other clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart, because of this situation. A transfer to one of these teams could provide the Portuguese player with a higher salary and European Cup football, but Vieira is said to be fundamentally happy in Hamburg. Vieira has 25 caps and 14 goals for Portugal's U21 team. He transferred from Porto to Arsenal in July 2022 for a reported fee of €35 million and his current market value is €18.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
