Following the departure of Alex Grimaldo, Bayer 04 Leverkusen is seeking a new left-back and is considering 25-year-old Spanish player Miguel Gutiérrez from Napoli. Gutiérrez is one of two options being evaluated by the German club, alongside Facundo Medina of Marsiglia. Napoli might allow the player to leave for a fee between €20 and €25 million. Bayer Leverkusen is expected to decide between the two candidates within 48 hours before attempting to advance negotiations with the respective club.
Gutiérrez joined Napoli in August 2025 and is under contract until 2030. In the 2025/2026 Serie A season, he made 28 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. He has been capped twice by Spain at the U21 level. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €22.00m.
