In the Süper Lig this season, he has made 16 appearances, scoring one goal and providing three assists. He has been capped 40 times for Uruguay. Boca Juniors have also been linked with the midfielder. His last permanent transfer was from Arsenal to Galatasaray in August 2022 for a €6 million fee. Reported asking prices and offers in 2025 ranged from €14 million to €17 million.
