In August 2024, it was reported that PSV had purchased the player for €3.5 million three years prior. By May 2025, reports suggested PSV was only asking for a fee of 'several hundreds of thousands' of euros. More recently, in April 2026, one report mentioned a potential €4 million asking price from PSV, but this was immediately contradicted by another source which considered that amount to be too high.

Our valuation is driven by conflicting but informative reports. Joël Drommel's value dropped significantly after being sidelined at PSV, with the club reportedly asking for only several hundred thousand euros in May 2025. However, a strong loan season at Sparta has revived interest, notably from Feyenoord. A reported €4 million asking price in April 2026 was dismissed as too high, which caps the upper end of our estimate, while his resurgent form justifies a value well above the previous low.
