According to Fabrizio Romano, PSV were interested in Ruud Nijstad, who has decided to stay and sign a new contract with Twente.

According to Voetbalprimeur.nl, PSV made an offer of five to six million euros to FC Twente for Ruud Nijstad, which was rejected. The report adds that FC Twente is likely aiming for bids from multiple clubs.

According to TC/Tubantia, PSV have a serious interest in Ruud Nijstad. Nijstad is under contract with Twente for only one more season. Players under eighteen may sign for a maximum of three seasons, and Nijstad did so at the start of 2024. The defender will therefore have to extend his contract this summer, otherwise Twente will very likely permit his departure in order to earn millions from him. The regional newspaper reports there is more activity around Nijstad, and that if a departure occurs, the expectation is that his transfer fee will be in the double-digit millions.

According to FC Twente-clubwatcher Leon ten Voorde, speaking on the AD Voetbal podcast, PSV will be closely following Ruud Nijstad this summer. Ten Voorde believes that although PSV has not made an official approach, there is definite interest in the defender, who is reportedly high on their list. Ten Voorde also questioned whether PSV could currently afford Nijstad and suggested they might need to sell players first, as Nijstad is expected to generate a significant fee for FC Twente if he leaves. The 18-year-old Dutch defender has 2 caps for the Netherlands U19 team. He is also facing interest from foreign clubs and was previously linked with FC Barcelona after securing a starting position earlier in the season. Nijstad's contract with FC Twente runs until June 2027, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €8.00m. Other clubs recently linked with him include Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich.
