Marseille has reportedly become interested in signing Sandefjord's 22-year-old Zinedin Smajlovic with strong and competitive interest, joining other interested clubs that include Olympiacos, Celtic, and Rangers. The asking price for the young Bosnian-Swedish defender is now said to be over €5 million. While Olympiacos is still pursuing a deal, the intensity of their efforts has apparently been lowered. The Greek club is competing with the other interested parties to sign the player. Smajlovic, who joined Sandefjord in February 2025, is under contract until the end of 2028. The Sweden U21 international has made 10 appearances and provided one assist in the Eliteserien this season. In June 2026, Olympiacos reportedly had bids rising to €4M rejected, while Celtic was also linked with a rejected bid of a similar amount.
