Aston Villa have conducted detailed checks on Žan Vipotnik, a 24-year-old Slovenian striker at Swansea City who is the current top scorer in the Championship with 22 goals. A number of other Premier League clubs are also interested; Newcastle, Everton, Leeds, Brentford, and West Ham have conducted similar checks, while Brighton has extensively scouted the player. Vipotnik is also being monitored by Sporting CP, Coventry City, and Ipswich Town. Some scouts have nicknamed the Slovenian the "new Viktor Gyokeres." Last month, Vipotnik signed a new long-term contract with Swansea, a decision reportedly made to protect his transfer value. He has earned 24 caps and scored 5 goals for Slovenia and joined Swansea on a free transfer in August 2024. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €15.00m. Reports from April 2026 suggested a potential sale would require a fee between £15m and £20m, while Swansea's asking price was consistently reported at £15m throughout February and March 2026.
