Yuri Alberto Transfer from Corinthians to Lazio

According to Globo.com, Corinthians' plan is to not release players until the end of the season to maintain the squad's strength for the Conmebol Libertadores and Campeonato Brasileiro. If a proposal is received during the year, the club will attempt to negotiate for the release to occur only in December. Corinthians would only consider negotiating if they can obtain at least 22 million euros. The club owns 50% of Yuri Alberto's economic rights, and if a negotiation occurs, they must transfer 10% of their share to agent André Cury. Zenit, from Russia, owns the other 50% of the player's rights.

Journalist Benjamin Back first reported, and ESPN confirmed, that Lazio's offer for Yuri Alberto was €24 million. At a press conference, Corinthians' new executive, Marcelo Paz, confirmed a proposal was made but stated that it does not meet the club's needs and that they expect a higher amount. Paz said he would not reveal the values of the bid and mentioned the proposal is with president Osmar. He added that the offer is not yet suitable due to the 24-year-old striker's importance in their squad.
