Youssouph Cheikh Sylla Transfer from Monopoli to Foggia
According to Tuttomercato, Foggia has completed the permanent signing of Youssouph Cheikh Sylla from Monopoli. The Senegalese forward, who will don the red and black jersey until June 30, 2026, has previously played for a number of clubs including Piacenza, Vigor Carpaneto, Gozzano, Pordenone, Siena, Alessandria, Vis Pesaro, Perugia, and Monopoli. Sylla has accumulated 14 appearances in Serie B, 109 in Serie C scoring 16 goals, and 53 appearances in Serie D with 31 goals. He has now joined his new teammates and is prepared to work under the guidance of coach Rossi.
Youssouph Cheikh Sylla is set to remain in Serie C Girone C, but he will not continue with Monopoli as he is joining Foggia, who are determined to invest heavily in him. Sylla is expected to demonstrate his potential at a club with a rich history that is currently facing technical and managerial difficulties. In the 2023-24 season, he managed to score eight goals while playing for Vis Pesaro and Perugia in Girone B. The 27-year-old Senegalese forward, who came to Puglia during the previous winter transfer window, did not leave a significant mark at Monopoli, having participated in nine matches with only five starts and failing to score. After spending the summer under the guidance of coach Alberto Colombo, it was mutually decided that Sylla would move on. Foggia is preparing to give him a new opportunity in the southern division, hoping he can regain his previous goal-scoring form. His contract with Monopoli was due to expire in June 2026, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €100k.
