Anderlecht is looking for an extra central defender, with 28-year-old Wout Faes mentioned as a possible solution as he seeks a new club following a last-minute transfer to West Ham United that did not proceed. His parent club, Leicester City, is actively trying to find a new team for the Belgian and had proposed a season-long loan to OH Leuven. That deal is reportedly no longer being considered due to financial reasons, as Leicester expected OHL to cover half of the player's salary, which was considered too high. Faes, a player from the Neerpede academy who can play centrally on both the left and right in defense, could therefore be an option for the Brussels club. Faes, who has 28 caps for Belgium, joined Leicester in September 2022 and has a contract that runs until 2027. His current Transfermarkt market value is €10.00m. Several other clubs, including Lazio, Beşiktaş, and Fenerbahçe, have also been linked with the defender.
